Lil Snoozy Camping/Travel blog

I don't post often but thought some might like to check out our new blog www.wanderingourway.wordpress.com.

We are spending the winter drifting around Florida and SE Alabama where our kids live.

We bought a Snoozy last spring and spent the summer modifying the interior to suit our particular needs. The "About the trailer" page details some of the mods.

Happy New Year,

Denny

I really like the way you changed the layout to fit your needs. Cool upholstery pattern too!

Thanks,

Sue made the bed covers and cushions; we got the foam from foam factory.com. She brought her sewing machine along on our trip (pack light?) to make curtains when the creative muse allows.

Nice Blog keep the pics coming

Happy New,
We did the same with our two bikes when traveling back to Texas after picking up our Lil Snoozy. I have been working on idea to stabilize the bikes, but have not built anything yet. Mind sharing your method.
Thanks much

Love the modifications! Looks awesome!!

I'm considering removing the jackknife sofa (miserable to sleep on) and making a twin bed. AND, I love the extra cabinets in the front of the bed. Very cool!!

Cool, have a wonderful trip!
Nice work on the mods, really like the mirrored cabinet and shelf in the sleeping area! Been thinking about that area as I need a place for my readers
Look forward to your pics,
Tommy

might see y'all in Florida

Loved the blog! Love the Snoozy as well. Got a tour and a drink with new Snoozy owners this fall in Watkins Glen S P....like all 'glassers they were very enthusiastic about the rig.
Our "vintage" Trill 1300 (aka The Road Toad) was excavated from our storage yard today and towed back to the driveway for packing. We hit the I 75 next Monday...two motel nights, then start with 2 weeks in Koreshan SHA, and thence to the Keys for eight weeks in the various S P's before heading north to Flagler Beach and home in Ontario by mid April.
So if you see a green Trilly with tandem bike on the rear and kayaks on the tug...honk and wave...there can't be too many Snoozys on the road!...we'll know its you!
Happy trails...Alistair & Inge in the 40 year old 1300

Tom, Here are some close ups of the bike restraint system. We have now gone about 1200 miles with zero damage to bikes or furniture so it works well but is quite fiddly to setup or take down. No tools are required but there are 20 1/4" wing nuts to tighten.

The upper member keeps the bikes from rocking right or left. The lower one has arms that extend up under the bed and toe kick space to hold the bikes down and centered in the aisle.

The front part clamps to the door cutout to hold the front wheels. The straps over the tires are 2 1/2" plastic electrical conduit straps with pieces of wood to make a tight fit with the tire and rim.

Hope this helps.

We're I to do it over again (and I will) I'd eliminate the bottom piece under the rear wheels and mount some kind of a receiver piece on the cabinet front so the upper rear member was constrained in the vertical axis.
