Maiden Voyage

Here are some pics of our first trip in our U-Haul. We went James River State Park, VA. We didn't do any practicing at home so it was a wakeup call when it came to managing the space. Still loved it, next time we'll leave more stuff at home, we brought enough food to feed an army.

james----did you have the entire park to yourselves!??!! sure looks like you had a wonderful spot for your first trip out.
the eggs and bacon photo looks good enough to eat. there is nothing that smells any better than fresh coffee and bacon cooking when camping. mmm mmm

There was one other camper in the park other than the host.

There were no leaves on the trees and it's been a while since i've had a sunburn. It made the woods magical after dark with the full moon.

So jealous!!! I'll just have to work harder to get Taj UHaul in shape to go camping. Love the puppy, too.

LOVE the pictures! My favorite is the interior shot with the dog. It looks so warm and cozy and homey in there!

Hey Donna, you should recognize that little U-haul. It's the one that was down by me at Waterloo in 2010.

I recognized the stove and sent a PM asking who they purchased it from.

Sure enough it was our friends from Virginia. Not much gets past us, huh!!

Bacon and fried potatoes with onions, yum. Yea the theme with these small campers is "less is more"

Looks like you had a wonderful "shake down" outting. I always bring to much food, I'd rather have to much than not enough. On our last outting we stopped at a rest stop and a man had broken down in his "Winny". He was collecting money for a part to fix his rig and I offered him some of our left over muchies and he was very appreciative as he only had acouple bottles of water.
Love the pix of your dog. Hope you have many more wonderful trips.
