Michiganians/michiganders

i have been made aware of an interesting event taking place in the upper penninsula in august.
since we have been discusing a gathering for august in northern michigan, this might fit right in for us.

it runs from august third, a friday,,,,through august 11th .

thats right, 9 days and will trek threw the U.P. and several camp grounds. starting in the east and working west to lake geobek(not sure of that spelling)
this is a planned camp trip with another group i belong to.
i have asked how they would feel if we joined them,,, but i'm pretty confident their attitude is,,,the more the merrier.

so how would that sound to you? we get to gather and no one has to do much planning.
P.S. you can attend the first weekend, or anynumber of days anywhere along the way if time is an issue, say if you couldn't make it till wednesday thursday and friday or something,,,that would be fine.

I believe that is Lake Gogebic you are talking about. My parents used to take their trailer there back in the 70's. My uncle had done projects for the CCC in that area in the 30's. It is the largest inland lake in Michigan - great place. I grew up in southern Michigan but wandered off decades ago. But we might be interested in meeting a group at Lake Gogebic if this event happens. I have promised Nancy another visit to Mackinac Island someday.

I was amused to see that the debate is still on as to what to call people from Michigan. Michiganders? Michiganers? Michiganites?

but if you live below the bridge your a troll.
and if your down in the thumb your a beet kicker. sugar beets are grown there.

i prefer michigander, but thats an opinion,,, and thats one more thing everyone has.....
