Brings back memories of our trip there in June. We drove through those hills in our 2WD pickup and it was fun imagining that I was hiding behind the same rocks as the Lone Ranger. The Lone Pine film history museum is a great place to visit to get some background on all the films that were filmed in the Alabama hills, plus some history of why they were named the Alabama hills.
We were prepared to boondock there if there weren't any sites available at the Lone Pine NFS campground (didn't want to pay the extra $9 reservation fee) but they had plenty of first come first serve sites available with the senior/access discount.
Thanks for the video.
