We'd like to go to Naples in Feb. (never been there). We'd like some input on places to stay (with pets) and chances of finding a campground (with short notice at this time of the year). Are the camping "resorts" packed out this year? We'd like to stay somewhere that will welcome a 17' travel trailer. Also we are looking for full hook-ups (cable would be nice). I've been looking in the Woodalls book but I can't tell by the listings which places would really be suitable. We'd like to hear from anyone who has been there.

Thanks,

Art

Better call ahead, the only place we have stayed at in that vacinity is the local State Park, Collier Seminole, nice park but electric, water, and dump station, no cable or wifi. There are several private parks in the area but no knowledge of quality

You want to go to someplace like a Woodall's Directory site and do some research on CGs in the area -- One problem is that this is SnowBird season, so there may not be many short-term sites available, although if done right, these can be the money maker for an RV park.

I haven't been to Florida in 50 years. Here's a resource for you. But remember, one person's diamond is another person's hunk of coal. However, if 5 out of 6 reviews said the bathrooms were filthy...I'd be inclined to believe it.

I'm currently vacationing on Marco Island in a rental home.. (Trailer is in storage)

There are 2 campgrounds out on SR 951 on the approach to the island.

1 is a KOA that just yesterday I rode thru to see if there were any Fiberglass trailers in there - it's packed but there were spaces available (about 4) when I went thru. Nice pool, looked to be activities quite a few seasonals there. There's another across the street, but the name escapes me right now. It's more shaded but looks packed. I haven't driven in there as of yet to go 'Egg Hunting'.

Then there's the State Park south of 41/951 - little more remote and primative with no pool or anything.

These are the only places I know of. Naples is usually known for it's multi-million dollar homes and good shopping!!

Good luck in your search! High this week is supposed to be 75 - it's been quite comfortable and sure beats the 18 degrees and snow back home in Ohio!!

Well...

I took a ride over to the Seminole-Collier State Park Campground today to do some "egg hunting" and much to my surprise there were 2 Casita's camped there!! Neither had activity around them (no cars) so they must have been out enjoying the 80 degree weather. It was good to see some Fiberglass RV's....makes me miss mine so much!! (Can't get it out of storage for another month and a half!!)

The lady working the check-in desk was very nice and didn't make me pay the $4.00 park fee to get in once I told her what I was there to look for...

Just an update on my 'egg search' in SW Florida...
