First trip of the year. Decent weather on the Oregon Coast for mid-February. Seen two other newer Casitas here. ☺️

Stayed there in about 2017 and also back in the 90s. We went to a nearby restaurant/bar to get a carry out pizza one night. I asked for a menu to take out to the parking lot so my wife could review it as we had our dog along with us. There were signs on the front entry saying no dogs allowed in restaurant. The lady said if you want to eat here you can eat on the outside patio/deck with your dog. I said “How do I get out there?” She said “ Just walk your dog through the restaurant and out the patio door.” So we did and had a great dinner at one of those tables with the fire in the black rocks in the center of the table. And a great conversation with two old busted up loggers who were reminiscing about their careers as professional loggers in the forests of the NW.

That looks beautiful. I am thinking about taking a detour through Oregon when I leave Arizona for Minnesota. I hope you post more of your trip.
Happy safe travels!

That's interesting that you ask, because I have been thinking about making a video about it. I customized a 14" polyester tire cover through Amazon. As long as the image has decent quality, you can use anything. I think the cost was around $20. It may take about 2 weeks for it to arrive. You then need to trim about 2" off--including the cord. You then put 16 plastic grommets about an inch or so from where you cut. String a 1/4" bungee through these grommets and fit around the spare off of the trailer. To put the finished cover on, you would need to put the cover on the bottom before putting the tire on the trailer. After securing the nut that holds the spare on, you should be able to get the rest of the cover around the tire.

Sounds like a total PITA to put on or take off. This is my spare tire carrier.
Just me, but it sounds like a total PITA to put on or take off. This is my spare. It rides in the back of the truck when we trailer, and in the corner of the garage when we aren't trailering,
Handy, convenient, and out of the way when I don't need it, and I don't have to mess with any silly cover when I do need it, (if ever.) Just sayin'.

We're headed to F-Loop in July and it looks like an awesome campground! Open to any killer breakfast or dinner places if you've got any suggestions.

I've only eaten at three places in the area. The Schooner, Upstairs Bar & Grill and Roseanna's Cafe--all in the Netarts area north of Cape Lookout. I would recommend Roseanna's Cafe above the others. Seafood pasta dish is to die for. Have fun!

We were there for a few nights the week before last.....great place......have a burrito at the Left Coast Siesta in Manzanita.....pick up a bottle of Armaretto at the small distillery in Nahelem......great stuff. Funny story......when we went into Manzanita.....the Oscar Myer Weiner Mobile was parked on the street outside an open hot dog stand......haven't seen that for 50+years. Very cool!

Growing up in the upper Midwest, an Oscar Mayer wiener mobile made stops at grocery stores in our home town about every summer. It stopped in the filling station where I worked and got gasoline. I got a good chance
To look it over that time. The fellows driving and riding ( two guys) were fairly young and friendly. Good ambassadors.
Quite the vehicle back then. Very novel.
Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Weiner
That is what I truly want to be
For if I were an Oscar Mayer Weiner
Everyone would be in love with me!
Some things just stay with you , like the weight I’ve gained eating those damn things. Is the Goodyear Blimp still active or did drones replace it yet?

Yep, the GY Blimp is still around. Apparently you don't watch NASCAR races. They're always flying over the racetracks.

I live near the hanger where they built and build the Blimps in Akron. An enormous facility that has its own weather sometimes. My dear departed friend Alex Zoltai was a master violin repairman who restored my 1790s old Italian violin. I used to go to his shop to hang out and talk and learn about fiddles (he got me an audition and ultimately a scholarship for music school.
However when he was a young man and laborer he was hired as a painter and had to ascend to the top of the facility and paint the flag pole.
What a character he was

I haven’t watched NASCAR for several years. I asked my wife if she’d seen the blimp lately and she confirmed it was on TV the other day at an event. I saw it once when it was in my home town and it flew pretty
low over the neighborhood where I grew up and where my mom still lived at the time. And in fact it flew Directly over the old corner grocery store where we used to shop and where my child bride of 53 years worked. We grew up 3 blocks from each other.
I must admit, her mother told her not to go up on Ninth street, the Smith boys lived up there. But she didn’t listen.
It’s fortunate that many of us had experiences with skilled old timers when we were young and though it might not be that notable it was fun. When I first got out of college and got my first permanent job, we used to have some social gatherings. As a conversation starter the Recreation director used to go around the room and ask each person to relate to all of the folks “What’s your claim to fame?”
Seems like everyone would have at least one encounter with one of America’s notables. I think that would make a good activity as a mixer at a rally “grip and grin” as one fellow at Algonac called it.
