Nevada Beach Campground, Lake Tahoe NV - Review

We absolutely love this campground. Located just a couple miles from the NV/CA border South Lake Tahoe. This campground is definitely one of our favorites. It's dry camping only, no hookups, but it's close to the lake and has extremely level sites that are well spaced out. It's one of the few places in Lake Tahoe are that allow dogs on the beach. Here's our review.

When staying at South Lake Tahoe it is hard to beat the city campground "campground by the lake". They have full hookups to dry camping for cheap cheap cheap. Plus you are in walking distance to my favorite vegetarian cafe "Sprouts". I'm not fully vegetarian but sometimes it does a body good to eat healthy and when the food is this delicious and affordable you can't miss ;o}

Our favorite campsite at Tahoe is D.L. Bliss just north of Emerald Bay. Trouble is, this seems to be everyone else's favorite as well. There is a lovely sandy beach and a hiking trail from the campground to Emerald Bay that has views that are not to be missed! There is a short nature hike to a natural wonder, Balancing Rock, a 250,000 pound boulder! See photos on this site Balancing Rock. Not all the campsites are level and 20' is the maximum length of a camper RV or car plus trailer that is allowed. We barely made the length limit with our 13' Scamp and sedan. We had our first experience backing into and upwardly inclined camping spot. This was not an easy task but we had no choice because the campground was 100% booked the for the weekend after July 4th, 2012. We made the reservations in February! We recommend going to Bliss in the shoulder season.

Is Bliss the one on the back side of Tahoe with the incredible views but "EXTREMELY" steep. If so that one is very beautiful but it scared me to just drive through it LOL!!!
