Well Marie and I left for vacation on Friday at 445pm. We drove for a hour or so and then had a Supper. We were at a rest stop. An American from Alaska was there also. When we pulled in, he came out and wanted a tour of our Escape. He was very impressed. He was on his way to Texas. We drove for 300 KMs and stopped for the night at Mt Robson in a provincial BC park. It was very clean and quiet. Cost $19.00

Our next stop was in Merrit BC. We meet some friends who have a RV site leased on some Native land. We spent the night there. It was June 21st, first day of summer. The natives there have a tradition of sharing the first day of summer. We were invited to a grand supper by them and then given a gift. This is how this group celibrates. Marie and I found it very enlightning.

On our third day out we stopped at Chilliwack and stayed there overnight. The following morning we went and saw Reace and Tammy at Escape Trailer Industries. It was a nice visit and we looked at a 5th wheel. We left then and drove to Ferry to cross over to Vancouver Island. We are now at Nanimo "Living Forest Campground". This is a very nice area.

I really under estimated the Ferry costs. It Came to $157.40.
We are averaging 18 miles per Imperial Gallon on Diesel fuel and cost /liter is $1.46. We spent $162.05 on fuel. We towed to date 1111.9 KMs

Photo is Marie checking e-mails.

We were in Victoria today. It was the arrival of the TALL SHIPS. This is one very busy City. Too much traffic for us.

Marie and I spent our last few days around Nanimo and Port of Alberni. We just relaxed and took in the local sights.
Cannons on waterfront. This is sunset over the open water.

You didn't see a tin man, or maybe Gina D. and her monkeys nearby, did you?

We are in the Chilliwack area ourselves on vacation as well. Are you saying a second night?

We stayed that night at Salmon Arm BC. We wanted to see if it was suitable for a retirement place for Marie and I.

From Salmon Arm we drove to Golden BC. We had to stop early due to severe rain storm. Next morning we headed for Jasper Alberta and home. Picture is where we stopped for lunch on Parkway Road.

So how about that retirement option? Joanne and I are looking for some place. Is it worth checking out?
