The Mississippi River turns into Lake Pepin due to a series of locks just downstream. The park is 450 feet above Lake Pepin and I'm told some of the bluffs reach a size 550 feet.
We haven't yet been to the five-mile Bluff Prairie on the Wisconsin side maybe next time.
I also saw these two scampers in the park while I was there. All in all it was a great farewell to Summer!
