Orlando Campgrounds

Madame has changed her mind (no comment). We are now going to be going up the east coast from Gainesville, FL, instead of up the Great River Road.

However...

She wants to go down to Orlando and see the Wizzarding World (OK with me!). Any suggestions for a campground that's not going to break the bank?

Try Boggy Creek near Kissimee it's about 20 minutes from Orlando. We didn't stay in the campground's but went for a airboat ride ,it was a blast. really liked the area. Check out the Boggy Creek Airboat Rides website. Forget Harry Potter and go see some gator's. Have Fun in your travel's.

Went to see the Wizzard last winter and stayed at Lake Lousia SP. Nice clean modern state park. About 30 min. from Mickey world and Wizzard land, an easy drive as long as it is not during rush hour. The park use to be a turpentine plantation and the park is pretty open. The camp sites are not on Lake Lousia, but there there are two smaller lakes on either side of the campground and both have fishing piers. Make sure you take a fishing rod, people were catching some really nice fish from the pier.
There is also a fruit stand nearby that lets you pick your own oranges. They also have the worlds largest swamp buggy, a 4X4 lifted school bus if you want to take a swamp tour. The fruit stands also has a few campsites available on a small lake.
