overnight within 45 mins of grass valley, ca ?

anyone got any ideas where we could overnight one night next week, within 45 mins or so of grass valley, california?

I see Sycamore Ranch near Yuba City is a county campground with about 30 spaces, first come first serve ... wondering how busy that might be next wednesday afternoon/night...

Check out:

Scott’s flat, (lake based camping)
Malokoff Diggins, (historical mining campground)
In Town Campground. (Closest to GV)

Yuba City is a bit of a trek from Grass Valley. I think you’ll enjoy the above options a little more.

re: trek, we're just staying wherever one night, and need to be in GV at 6:30am the next morning. I don't even plan on unhitching.

found another county park that DOES take reservations and was almost empty on the night in question, within 35 minutes of GV, so I'm good to go. $10/night, too. Bear River Park near Colfax. sure, the route to GV is a twisty back road, but hey, its an ADVENTURE!

This is a great website for finding campgrounds anywhere in the USA. Here is the Grass Valley list.

because no one has reviewed/rated that campground yet, so it's not listed. Also it would be under Colfax, CA not Grass Valley. If you stay there, you could rate it on the website.

yeah, figured as much. plus its no-hookups, in fact, no potable water site, although many of the spaces are big enough for trailers (the one I reserved has a 30x30' parking pad.
