Does anyone know of campsites near the Sellwood area of Portland? We're going to the Oaks Park skating rink and want to stay near there. They actually will let us boon dock in the parking lot there, but I'm wimpy and want electricity for our new microwave

I know of a few close by, but let me check it out further tomorrow. You could always stay in our driveway. We are on the other side of the Sellwood bridge, about 4 miles West, in Garden Home. We are close to Multnomah Village. I can offer electricity, and there is a free dump station about 1/2 mile South @ Hall and BoonesFerry.

Then maybe some hot, sulty, summer day, we could stay in yours...Oh....how I miss those....

I don't know of any either on that side of town. But, Nancy posted this

RV Park of Portland
5 miles south of Portland
http://www.rvparkofportland.com/
Private campground; clean; on a river; fairly quiet (little noise from freeway); full hook-ups available; close to Portland.

in "Post a brief review, where have you been, and how did you like it?"

My Brother lived at the RV park Donna listed, it seemed OK and safe. Nothing spectacular, just a big RV park. Kind green tho.

Check a map, there are a variety of ways to get to Oaks park from there, both Freeway and back roads.

This is probably the closest you will get to the Oaks. Just not much RV space in Portland proper.

PS.. I learned to skate in that rink as a kid, and later on, as an adult, I put in a huge sound system there. (Which, I am sure, has been trashed and replaced by now)
