Smile Ride to Aguirre Spring BLM Campground

I did a Ride up to Aguirre Spring BLM Area today on my Yamaha XT250 just to get out and about. From our recent rains the old desert is very green.

On the way via Dripping Springs Road and Baylor Pass Road on the Las Cruces side of the Organ Mts.

Westside of Organ Mts, Aguirre Spring BLM Area is on the Eastside.

They are in the process of removing the old tables and shelters and replacing them with new ones; seems like they are adding a few new campsites as well.

View from Campsite toward Baylor Pass; Baylor Pass named for the Confederate Officer who took his men over it during the Civil War.

Adrian, these pictures are awsome! You have us reliving this part of our vacation trip. What a wonderful playground, and practically in your backyard.

To make our more sedate friends and neighbours wonder even more about our sanity, in my picture of the Aguirre Spring welcome sign, I carefully screened out the line "Over 23 Ft. Long" under "Not Recommended for Trailers".

And thanks for your initial input back when we were firming up our plans. It helped a lot.
