Rustys RV Ranch, Rodeo, NM

From the city of Deming we're heading to a rural RV park that I thought might be of interest to others. It's a little bit off I-10, though we're avoiding I-10 and heading over on NM 80.

The site's pictures are interesting and indicative of NM's open spaces and numerous mountains.

About the owners of Rusty's RV Ranch

Safe and fun travels,

Watch for border crossers! Just kidding. Looks like a nice area.

Nice website and campground idea. Are you there? What do you think of it?

Rustys RV

Lizabeth,

It's absolutely beautiful. We spent yesterday afternoon in the mountains and plan to spend another day there. Today we went looking for a crater and ended up at Slaughter Ranch, very interesting in it self.

The following picture is in the mountains near here.

The campground would be perfect for a Fiberglass Rallies, you coul easily fit 6 Trailers in each site all surrounded by mountains.... Tomorrow I'll take a bunch of pictures.

If you come here bring food, it's a long way to a store.

If you are headed east try Cascade Caverns & Campground in Boerne (rhymes with journey), TX, we stayed 2 nights and it was nice. There are lots of trees. The bathrooms and showers were new and clean. The caverns are right there should you choose to go down in them. We did, but after Carlsbad, it was more like a cave. It was interesting though because it was wet and Carlsbad was dry.

Thanks for the tip. We're heading west to Seattle in May but will be back here again.

I should have mentioned that Rustys has a huge hit tub and a lap pool where you swim against a stream of water.

Coronado Nat. Forest

RRizzo

Be sure to visit the Coronado Nat Forest. If you can take a look at Sunny Flats Campground in the Forest. We did not stay in the forest this time but will try Sunny Flats for part of our visit next time.

Rustys does have WiFi as well and is a Passport Park.

If you go into the Forest be sure to go the Cathedral Vista, bring a lunch. There's a bench and a telescope at the vista.

I have not met anyone who's come to the park that hasn't stayed longer than they planned and they all hope to come back.....

Another local place to visit is the John Slaughter Ranch towards Douglas. If you love dirt roads this area is absolutely great.

Poor to spotty phone service unless you have a booster. There's not a lot of people around here
