Sycamore Canyon Campground @ Point Mugu State Park, I believe. Neat place, we camped there in 2006, summer after we had gotten our
Scamp. In June, I believe.
Didn't get to camp up the canyon along the hillside, only had a spot down by the "floor" of the canon. More like a parking lot, with a small creek by the side, nice large trees around the "rim" of the pavement, but enjoyed our time there. From your photos, maybe in the same area as you?
A short walk to the restrooms & on to the beach after crossing under Hwy 1, a small sandy beach with some tide pools at low tide. Enjoyed hearing the parrots flying by in evenings through the trees as well as the gulls along the beach.
Used it as a base to check out the Malibu area, especially the Getty Villa.
Enjoyed eating at the Neptune's Net Seafood to have great seafood. "The Scene – This glorified roadside shack is situated alongside Malibu's picturesque Pacific Coast Highway."
Thanks for the post.....brought back some nice memories.
Must be a nice time there. A few years earlier, we did a one nighter at Leo Carrillo State Park at this time of the year in a C-Class MH. Very nice time along the coast.
Carrillo has a very neat tide pool (much larger area than at Sycamore Canyon, with a rocky beach), we have done several day trips to it over the years. Some this time of the year as well. Very neat area.
