Yellowstone, Canyon campground

I plan on going to YNP next June and was going to make my reservation at Canyon campground this morning but the info they give about all the campsites there is that they are limited to 30'. My Casita & truck come to 37'. I'd like some feedback from anyone who has camped at Canyon. How long is your trailer & TV total? Did you have any problem checking in or parking your rig? I'd hate to get there and then get told I can't go in and be totally out of luck in YNP. Bridge Bay takes bigger rigs but is out of the way for me and Fishing Bridge is too pricy.

Thanks!

I was there last year, with a tent trailer (opens up to 20') and small SUV. The sites are not long, and the back of our site had a beam that might prevent a trailer from being backed past it. In our case we didn't have a problem because we could open up the back half of the trailer over top of this beam. It might be a problem for a trailer, though.

Thanks for the info Doug. Obviously my rig will be longer than yours. Did there seem to be any room to sort of angle the vehicle in sort of next to the trailer or next to the front of the trailer? I'm hoping others will respond with more info.

I understand Doug. I really wish I had driven through the Canyon campground when I was at the cabins last month.

Stayed in Canyon with a 17' Casita and full size PU last August. There were plenty of sites larger than the one we had. I think maybe the site length relates to the length of the camper, not total of rv and tow vehicle.

Darwin, thanks for the info but since I want to be up & out at dawn for photos being in W. Yellowstone would not be very convenient.

Thanks Jerry, I knew you were in the park when I was at Grant cg but wasn't sure if you & Wanda stayed at Canyon or not. Your info is just what I needed, now I can make my reservation.
