1975 Burro

Saw an ad for a 13’ Burro in the Columbus Ohio Craigslist. Ad says it is in good shape but get this, they only want $800. Fiberglass trailers aren’t seen much in Ohio, so that may explain the “must go” price. Ad was still active as of today. Good luck!

I saw the same information (maybe a different ad, but too many similarities) in an ad posted on Craig's yesterday in the Ft. Lee NJ area.
A 13 foot Burro, for $800, but not listed today.

SCAMS almost always work on one premise, people want something for nothing. Turns out they get the opposite, nothing for something. Happens every day. If you really want to see scams, do a search for Airstreams for sale. You will find several for $2,000 or less, all scams.

Well that sucks. I wonder if they want people to just wire money sight unseen. Almost want to go over and check it out myself, even though I’m looking to buy a bigger Scamp. Also wondered why it hadn’t sold quickly.

Just my luck, post my first message in the forums and it turns out to be a possible rip-off artist. Sorry. 😞

Don’t feel bad. The important thing is you sought advice and didn’t get caught. And you know enough not to part with money until you’ve seen a real live trailer (and a real live title if applicable).

Next step is to look at legitimate listings to become familiar with real-world market prices. (www.fiberglass-RV-4sale.com collects nationwide ads and filters scams). Then you can recognize a listing that’s suspiciously cheap.

First flag, Burro wasn't manufactured in 1975:

Burro Travel Trailers were manufactured in IOWA from 1978 to 1986 and in California from 1998 to 2001.
