When searching for an RV
for sale, many of us spend hours pouring over various ads on the internet.
An RV purchase is something that you can travel a considerable distance for.
Craigslist is the leading venue nationwide for individuals to list items
for sale. The disclaimer is that it has its share of scammers and sleezyness. But the vast majority of listings are valid and honest. I will leave it to others to give techniques to verify the validity of ads.
You can also get an idea of the "market price" various RVs.
How I do it:
Go to Craigslist and click on RVs + Camp in the
for sale section.
This will give you RVs listed in your local area.
Choose for sale by owner or dealer or "all".
On the left side click on "use map"
Then you get a map with a radius of 60 miles from your area.
It has a + and - button that you can use to expand or contract the map around your location.
Click the - until the map expands to 250 miles from your location. (that is as far as it goes) At the bottom select "choose this location".
This will give you all of the RVs listed in a circle 500 miles in diameter.
You can sort them for what you are specifically interested in.
THEN, in about 5 seconds, you can click and drag the 500 mile diameter map to a different area in the US, hit search and view those specific RVs listed in that area without having to reset the map diameter or type of RV you are interested.
If you are really looking hard for a particular RV you can save time the next day by choosing "posted today".
This allows you search vast areas of the US daily for new ads in just a few minutes.
