Trail West Campster -- $2200

Came across this ...

14 ft. fiberglass trailer

Looks pretty good from the pics.

Wasn't Raya after something "square" like this to look cool behind her Volvo?

Speaking of Raya, has anyone heard from her?

Trails west

Is that a new canvas screen on the Pop-up top...it looks like it has only the one breatheable, see-through screen in the front, rather than on all 4 sides like my Compact II's original screen.

And a question for Francene...I've followed your beautiful restoration on your Compact II and am wondering if I'll ever get to meet you and see your re-newed Egg, in person, at one of the upcoming Washington or Oregon rallies.

Hi Barbara,
I can't answer the first part about the poptop screens on a Trailswest or it's close relative, the Compact JR., but my CII also has 4 side windows like yours.

I'm flattered by your admiration of my little trailer's restoration. I sure do look forward to participating in WA/OR rallies and meeting with y'all. I left my trailer up in WA in storage while I am in SoCal till August,on a mission to help my son transition here. Can't wait to come back and go camping. We'll see what goes.

Francene,

I just read through the thread on your trailer restore. Where did you learn so many skills? Welding, framing, plumbing, electrical, gas systems and more, I'm in Awe! We'd love to learn skills like that.

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for the compliments. I've enjoyed working with my hands since childhood, finding my Dad's hammer and nails and banging together bird feeders and such. Loved doing crafts and art, too, and still do. BA in Fine Art. Took woodworking and welding at community college, read about electrical, plumbing and gas work from books. Being a real do-it-yourselfer, I've picked up home maintenance skills over the years. I enjoy the challenge of repairing, though it can get frustrating at times. So now I'm 60 and have enough confidence to tackle most things, unless they are beyond my strength capabilities. Too bad alot of these skills have been associated with men only; women have been missing out on the sense of accomplishment.
