I tow my 13' Trillium that weighs about 1800 lbs loaded. Set up for towing is plug and play. There are 3 wiring assemblies and the hitch which you can get at the dealer. The oem hitch has a holder for the 7 pin and costs a little more than the after market. Mine has a full back seat and a 5x5 bed with a cover. There's plenty of power when needed and the mileage is typically around 17 mpg with the trailer. I'm very happy with the truck and would buy another in a heart beat. Good luck, Raz
Do you happen to know the total length of your set-up?

I will be watching the answers and suggestions you get. I have a 2013 6 cylinder 4WD Nissan Frontier and will be towing a Scamp 19' 5th wheel. I am looking for a ballpark MPG figure.

Hi, have to say that maybe the best idea for a mindset on fuel mileage for towing is to just fill the tank and not worry about it as it will be less than your normal driving. My class A/Cs were always in the mid 7s which was pretty good for big blocks. Can't say that I ever gave the fuel mileage a second thought as the fun/family experience trumped whatever went into the fuel tank. We all remember the trips and reminisce but for the life of me I don't remember the cost of any fill up of 60 gallon tanks .

I do have to think about mileage because my RAV4 V6 MPG is not good ( towing or not ) and the tank is tiny. I plan on stopping every time I spot a gas station, to be sure I reach the next one.

If its about range, tough to beat the Ford trailer package that gives you a 36 gallon fuel tank. The 3.5 EB will get similar mileage to the Frontier. 2.7 EB better.

Smaller trucks (in overall size) do not enjoy superior fuel economy.

V6 Frontier 4WD rated as 15MPG city, 21 highway. F150 with 2.7 EB rated 19 city, 24 highway. 3.5 EB is 17 city, 22 highway.

Ford has gone all in on truck production, eliminating almost their entire car line in the USA. So they either have to dominate the truck market, or get smaller. Look for Ford to continue to push innovation into their truck models as they won't be distracted by cars.

We have a 2016 F150 Supercab 2.7 EB 4x2 Sport (20" Aluminium wheels) with tow pkg and 36 gal tank. Towing mpg ranges from 22 mpg down to 18 mpg depending on tailwind/headwind and terrain.

With 36 gallons and near 20mpg average, our range can be 720 miles ... so we never stress about running out of fuel.

Been towing with our Nissan for a few years now. First a 19’ Scamp, now a 19’ Airstream. We had a 2003 Toyota Tacoma previously that we purchased to tow the Scamp. Both worked well to pull the Scamp, but we like the comfort of the Nissan more.

I would typically get between 14 and 16 mpg with the Nissan towing the Scamp,19’. The smaller engined Toyota would get between 16 and 18 mpg. Pulling the Airstream, I get from 12 to 14 mpg with the Frontier.

I have no desire to own a full sized truck, my top of the line fully loaded Nissan was purchased for less than $30,000. A full sized half ton would have been significantly more.

I tow my 19' Bigfoot with a 2007 Nissan Frontier V6 NISMO 4 x 4. The offroad suspension really handles the trailer superbly and I have plenty of towing power. I love my truck.
