2023 Maverick

We picked up our 2023 Maverick 2.0, with the tow package Friday and the initial evaluation of the truck is going to exceed our expectations(time will tell).
We drove home from Redding to Doyle approximately 160 miles of 2 lane
mountainous highway and a maximum of 5800 feet elevation change. The computer showed 31.3 mpg with just driver in the truck ( I drove our F-150 home ).
I hooked the 2015 Scamp 16 deluxe up this morning for a test drive. We drove from Doyle to Hallelujah Junction a round trip of about 45 miles mostly 2 lane highway, with a maximum elevation change of 1000 feet. A lot of hills but no really steep grades. Computer showed 19.5 for the trip.
Obviously the numbers will change when are loaded up for a trip, but like stated at the beginning I am really happy.

No, it is the 2 liter turbocharged version. We are taking it on a road trip this week, I'm hoping the numbers stay fairly close with everything loaded.

Sounds like a great fit!

I assumed the Maverick would suffer the same fate as the Ridgeline, but I guess slapping a blue oval on something is enough to sell it. Well, that and about a $10,000 difference. There's still plenty of hate for the Maverick on truck forums, but it seems to be selling just fine. The combination of cost, efficiency, and capability look just right to me.

After researching for 6 months while waiting for delivery, I realized most of the haters hadn't driven a Maverick or had unrealistic expectations.

Amazing MPG

I originally was looking for a Maverick to tow my 17' Casita. The few I found mostly didn't have the tow package , but all I found were 5k over sticker. Ending up finding a slightly used 4 year old Chevy Colorado that only had 10k miles on it for almost 12k less than the cheapest tow package equipped Maverick that I'd found. I'm happy with the overkill of the 7000 pound towing rating of the Colorado and the 15 MPG towing, but man, this thing rides like a, well, truck. The Maverick drove and rode like my car and I didn't need a 3 foot step ladder to access the bed like the Colorado requires. Maybe the next time! Enjoy your Maverick. I look forward to reading about your experiences and adventures with it!
