Hi rgrugg,

We pull our Escape 17, dw 2600, with a 2019 Chevy Colorado 2WD V-6 gasser. A perfect match. Most recent trip covered 850 miles, crossed the Sierra twice, got 18 mpg. It's a crew cab, 5 1/2 foot bed, and would be shorter than your Ram by a bunch, maybe short enough for you garage. You might not need a WDH (we don't), and you would have the advantage of a truck bed for the gear that gets dirty.

Re mid-size SUV's, our friends have an Escape 17 which they pull with a recent model Suburu Ascent. They love it.
