Thought I would give a follow up on my axle install at Bud's Brake and Trailer in Bakersfield, CA. It was a very straight forward install and they did a great job. They were very careful to protect the fiberglass and I have no complaints with the service.
I was quite surprised at the amount of lift I got from a 22.5 degree down axle on my 16' Casita! It was 4 1/2". Wow! Not what I had expected. I think the 16' Casitas get more lift than a 17' when lifted. Just my observation. I collected lots of pics of Casitas that had 22.5 degree down axle upgrades and none of them look as high as mine. My trailer is getting bigger
tires tomorrow to help make the height look a little better. It's just as well since I'm now towing with an F250 4x4 and most of my camping is
boondocking in the desert. I guess I don't have to worry about my tank valves breaking off from low clearance anymore.
