Condensation in hub

I repacked the wheel bearing 4 weeks ago. since then we've had several days of night temperatures in the 20's and daytime near fifty. I pulled the dust covers off and to my surprise the side in the shade had a thimble of water in it and the red grease was pink. This trailer hasn't moved. The only way water could have gotten in there is by condensation. I know I should change the grease but we are planning to pull out tomorrow for an extended road trip.

Has anyone else experienced this? Now I'm think I need to get marine/water resistant grease to repack the bearings with but my plans were for + 2000 miles before I will be at a place suitable to do it.

What happens to the grease that has moisture in it? Will it dry out and be ok?

I now understand why the mfg say to repack yearly.

Not sure about the grease you have used(synthetic?) but, your best bet for this application is an ordinary Lithium based grease.
Some condensation is normal and should burn off when you tow far enough to bring the bearings to temperature.
This is why a trailer which is towed regularly requires repacked less often.
When left sitting for long periods rust from condensation can lead to bearing or spindle damage.
