Convert to 10 inch breaks ?

I have a 2017 Scamp 13 foot. It has 7 inch breaks. I would like to convert to 10 inch self adjusting breaks. Can this be done?

I would call Scamp and ask them about conversions. Tire and rim size, brake drum width, clearance issues in the whelk wells etc all come into play. Scamp would know I suspect.

Yes it can be done, in fact the new 13s come with a Zero axle with 10" BRAKES.
I converted my 2004 Scamp 13 to the Zero axle with10" brakes. Love the results!

HOWEVER!! The switch requires an axle change since the 7" brake hubs have a straight 1-1/16" spindle and the 10" brake hubs have a staggered spindle with a larger inboard bearing. The spindles are not serviceable parts.

Tire and rim size are the same and no clearance issues with the correct replacement axle.
Calling Scamp would be a good choice, as they can do the job competitively on the same day while you go for coffee across the road.
Heck the late models are even bolt on.

Zero axle for 2012 Scamp 13 standard w/ bath: question

We're having the Zero axle installed on our 2012 Scamp at the factory near the end of April.

Question: how much additional clearance does this axle add? Our current tow vehicle has used a hitch ball with a 3 inch drop.

Thanks.
