F150 V6 tow package?

Hi!

New here.

Anyone have any insight on towing with a Ford F150 V6 (2008)? The research I did was for a vehicle that could tow a loaded 3000lbs trailer - so I went for a V6 engine. I figured that would be enough and in my budget. According to the owner's manual, this truck can tow more than twice that.

Now I'm looking for the right tow package and other things that will make this adventure the safest to tow a 13-16 foot fiberglass cutie.

Do I just ask for the works at the tow package store? Are there specific things I need to ask for?

Thanks! Getting there!

Abe

You’ll need a hitch receiver, full 7-pin trailer wiring, and a brake controller. Don’t buy the ball mount until you have a trailer lined up, because the ball size and ball height are trailer-dependent.

tow package

If you specify the tow package, you'll get the 7 pin connector and the hitch receiver

F150 V6 tow package?

Late thought... you might want to have a conversation with your mechanic about whether you would benefit from an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler. An ATF cooler is relatively inexpensive protection for your transmission.
