Does anyone have any information on the brand or axle rating for the fibert Sream trailers? I am trying to find out the actuall brand name or actual brochure info on the axles.
I would appreciate any info that you may have.

Cindy,

I just finished "flipping" the axles and refurbishing everything related on my '79 Fiber Stream. I could find no evidence of make, so was watching this thread in hopes someone would respond who had the info. The good news is I took the hubs and brakes to the local RV parts house and everything I needed was readily available.

Good luck,
Mike

They could have been from any one of a number of manufacturers, but the odds are good that they were probably Dexter, expecially if Mike was able to find replacement parts off-the-shelf... even if the axle wasn't a Dexter itself, the manufacturer likely used Dexter hubs and parts.

You might try looking at the Dexter site for info...

If all else fails, pull the hubs and get the bearing part numbers. A bearing supplier should be able to tell you from that the axle rating, or at least get awfully close.

Good luck!

Exclamation New Fiber Stream axle needed!

I know this is an old thread, but I need help with a Fiber Stream axle replacement. I blew the trailing axle (non-brake axle) wheel bearing on the trailer door side. I believe the axle will need to be replaced. The trailer is at a shop 300 km from home. The shop foreman is unsure that he can find a replacement axle, since it is such a light one (2000 lb rating, 4 bolts on 4 inch hub pattern).

Does anyone have a supplier and/or part number for this axle (e.g. Dexter)?

Failing that, does anyone have the important measurements to order the axle ( hub-to hub length, springs center-to-center, overall axle length)?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Victor

Be patient Victor. It's the first long weekend (Memorial Day) of the summer. Lots of people who could help may be out camping.
