Does anyone know where a person can find a rim that fits onto a Boler. The tires are easy enough to find, but I can't find rims that are compatable with the amont of space there is, also there are 5 holes. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Hi Doug

Just went to Walmart last week. They had 13" hubcaps on sale..4 for $10.00 Cdn (thats about $1.50 US exchange Lol). They work and look great. Used 3 for the trailer including spare and have one left over.

Here's a pic of them

Cheers

Al

In previous discussions, it seems that the consensus was that our Bolers use the most common "trailer" wheel sold, so just about anyone who sells wheels (including WalMart, Canadian Tire, tire stores, Princess Auto, etc.) has the right ones. The wheel is really determined by the axle, and it seems that most Boler axles are Dexters.

The key specifications for any wheel, with typical Boler specs in [brackets], include:
  • bolt pattern (number x bolt circle diameter) [5 x 4.5"]
  • offset (distance hub is outboard of wheel centre plane) [1/2"]
  • centre hole size [I don't know offhand, but large compared to most cars]
  • hub or bolt centric (located by a close fit of the centre hole to the hub, or just by the bolts) [bolt centric]
  • diameter (nominal diameter at tire bead) [13" in this case; the B1700 normally has 14"]
  • width (nominal width at tire bead; must be in range suitable for tire) [I don't know]
It would also be nice if the shape of the wheel fit any hubcaps which you might want to use, such as the common baby moons, but there's no real spec for that. Full wheel covers mount right out at the edge, and are essentially a universal fit.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.
