For Casita Owners with the Old Adco Torsion Axless

Mine was shot and Adco is out of biz.. So I ordered a custom Dextor. Couple things I didn't catch when ordering. Adco and Dextor have the long end of the axle pads( where the frame sets on the axle) on different ends. I had to cut the Dextor pad to length and weld a extension on the other end. Adco pads (on my Casita) were 1 1/2" wide, same as the frame. Dextor pads are 2 1/2" wide. This would not allow the pads to make contact with frame as fiberglass bottom contact. This forced me to do a body lift for clearance. I used some 2" x 4"wide rectangular steel box. I saved $1500 doing this all my self , but unless your handy with tools and have access to a lift recommend letting a shop do the axle replacement and get a quote in writing.

Nice looking work. It's a gift to be handy with tools. It's Dexter, btw.

What an interesting project- how many inches did you raise it, and have you noticed any difference in the way the trailer handles under tow? I for one would love to see more pictures, hint hint....
