Need new rear stabilizers for Scamp 13’

I have a 13’ 1985 Scamp and need to replace the Atwood pull down stabilizers. One dropped down and tore off while driving!!
Scamp doesn’t sell those anymore and are using BAL c jacks. Has anyone used them and installed them? Thanks.

Most people that have them like them. It may require some minor frame modifications to install them, typically under the rear dinette rather than the bumper. You will want to replace both.

On the other hand I like the old-style Atwoods because they don't require cranking. You can order just the single replacement from a number of online vendors, including e-trailer. Sadly, they've become a lot more expensive since most manufacturers have discontinued them as original equipment. Make sure you get the right size, with a range of about 6-18".

I have seen the Atwood’s on my SIL’s Casita. Didn’t like the lack of fine adjustment and kind of a wrestling match especially if you’re older. We have the BALs on our Bigfoot and use a cordless drill to raise and lower. They work great.

I had the same thing happen in January, hope I didn't cause a problem for drivers behind me! I found these from Red Hound on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 very easy to install on my 1997 Scamp 13, $35.

Atwood Jacks available

I have the original Atwood stabilizer jacks from my Scamp collecting dust in the garage. If you want them and are willing to spring for shipping you may have them. Would prefer to see them used. They are in good shape and need no attention prior to bolting up. Message me on this forum if you are interested.
