Just reminded me- at an auto show about 10 years ago, there was a booth selling 5th wheel hitches for CARS- that mounted THROUGH the trunk lid.
I suspect that is what is use on the car in Doug Arthur's pic

The fellow in my pictures actually had removed the trunk lid.
