As a former Firefly pilot, and a fan of Trilliums, this picture bothers me.

BTW, Fireflys have no rated towing capacity.

The guy who recorded the video is just as crazy. I would pass this fool and never look back! Think of the debris he must be scattering all over. Still it is funny to see.

This is my Escape 19 behind my gutless Honda Element. Note, this is in the driveway, to back into my VERY tight parking spot.

Gutless? We have an ‘06 CRV with the same 2.4L drivetrain, and it will pass a line of slower traffic at 60 mph headed up a grade at 7000’ with four adults on board. It revs easily and smoothly with a muted growl, hitting its stride between 3000-4000 RPMs. 216K and the only hiccup was a failed thermostat at 190K.

Not a lot of torque for towing, of course, so stick to your driveway with that E19…

Now our previous 1st generation 2.0L CRV might qualify for the epithet.

The Honda Element has a towing capacity of 1500 lbs , the Escape list a dry weight of 3250 lbs . I would expect the Honda would appear "gutless" towing the Escape in the North Carolina mountains , or even on flat ground ? Lee

To me, Element is gutless with no trailer I only use it to move the Escape in my backyard. I would not take it on the road. Personallly I wouldn’t use it to tow my Trillium 1300 either.

Thrifty Bill My bad did not have the context of your only using it to move the trailer around the house ! Lee

They are heavy would not attempt pull the Escape anywhere even around the yard with our car. Tongue weight would likely be to much. Our trailer has a tongue weight of 200lbs or less. We have a lot of hills, not mountains just he Niagara escarpment to deal with, the boler is our limit.
Like the humour in Thrifty Bill's post.
