Can't get into it as that would be politics, but tariffs are a tax and we will all pay more.

Good call. I would ask other's to do the same and refrain from any discussion of politics which goes against the Community Rules.

Sumitomo is almost certainly the manufacturer of these tires. I can document that separately, or just do a web search.

Now for Geography. Sumitomo is Japanese, not Chinese. So even if there were tariffs on Chinese tires, Chinese tariffs have nothing to do with Japan. Follow? Great.

China & Japan are more distinct than Canada and the U.S.

More Geography: Sumitomo happens to have a large factory outside of Buffalo, NY. It produces 17,000 tires a day, and may make these tires. We don't tariff tires made in Buffalo either.

Does anyone see a point to be made about these tires and Chinese tariffs? It is Geography.

Thank you.

A quick Google search will show these tires are manufactured in China. FWIW.

In some ways, the trailer tire market is about as clear as mud. Names mean next to nothing to me.It is very easy to change the molds to change the name on any tire, and many U.S. and Asian tire manufacturers do just that. While all tires sold in the U.S.for on road use are required to meet Department Of Transportation (DOT) specifications, but testing is questionable. One brand, Maxis seems to have a positive following, and the new Goodyear trailer tire has had some positive reviews, but with many others it's not very clear. Good luck.
