We did it! Have A new TOW VEHICLE!

I am so stoked!!!!!!! We signed the papers tonight, and now have a 2010 Chrystal Black Pearl RTS Ridgeline truck to pull our little Bean!!!!

I can't tell you how wonderful it feels not to worry about the Element towing (still have the E--traded in a Civic). Now I can do just about any mod I want and not have to stop and think about what that will do to the weight! And take my 50 pound screen room, and all the other fun stuff!

Not to mention what a sweet vehicle the Ridgeline is! Have wanted one for a long time! Now we have to hurry and break it in to 500 miles so we can start towing!!!!

Congrats-that is a nice vehicle.
We are still trying to find the pickup with the options on it Richard wants-not a new one but almost new.
We are going on 4 night camping, 3 day trip this Labor Day-not sure where yet.
Happy Camping!

Reitha---Lucky you! I'd be right there with ya, except Devyn will be here from Germany!

Just got back from driving the Ridge around. Love it! Now back to cleaning the house for European guests!

Have fun!

Got ya---

They can't just say "Black"---it has to be Nighthawk Black, Formal Black, Chrystal Black Pearl----who THINKS of these names?

Speaking of colors---when we were in the process of looking at vehicles, my husband divulged a secret dream (I've only known him 44 years!) that he always wanted a YELLOW truck. Don't think that's going to happen, but got to thinking wouldn't it be neat to paint the Pacer yellow, and make the decals black and gray (could do just black but the gray would tie in to the Element, too, if we were towing with that.) And now that I can add some weight, I could paint the lower front with the gray bedliner stuff. HMMMMMMM

BTW---I met my husband when I was 13---so I'm not ancient (yet!)

As did I, perhaps it had something to do with the way Crystal was spelt.

Be sure to be extra careful finding the limits on that tailgate [both ways] when the trailer is attached... including when not parked quite straght.
would want any scratches!

Thanks Jane---you must know us Element owners---we name those, too! I wish this wasn't "my husband's" truck. He's no fun. I started looking at pet mods for the back seat and he gave me a dirty look. I'll have to name it in secret!

Our TV is a Chevy Tahoe that has no back seats -- only dog crates and training equipment.

I was thinking of naming our Bigfoot. But am coming up blank

another Ridgeline fan

Vickie,

hope you guys are enjoying your Ridgeline!

If you are not already a member (or aware), just as this site helps out for our eggs, there is much help for any questions/info for your RL at www.ridgelineownersclub.com The folks there were much help when I set out looking to buy one.

My family and I purpose bought an RL on the east coast last Spring ('09) to bring our long-distance-bought Burro home from Ohio. It was a great trip! We ended up ultimately having to sell the RL a few months after we got home to help the budget (kept the Burro, naturally! - can still tow it w/ the van) but it was a great vehicle for the task and I hope to have one again someday. We had an '09 RT in the "Bali Blue Pearl" (crazy paint names) and I installed the wiring kit and brake controller myself. For anyone looking at a Ridgeline, '09 and newer have the hitch installed stock on all 3 trims, but only the RTL trim has the towing wiring kit installed. RT and RTS you have to buy the towing wiring separately (goofy, but Honda-like...). All 3 trims are 'plug & play' ready for a brake controller tho'. '06 - '08 only the RTX came with the hitch installed (and wiring), all other trims you had to buy and install it all. The RTX trim was last issued in '08.

Here's a couple pics - one when we hooked up the Burro for the first time just outside of Cleveland, OH - and another on our way through Olympia, WA on the way back home....

Enjoy towing and enjoy all the cool features of your RL!
