What size rims do I need - 1973 Trillium 1300

As per the thread title...what size rims do I need for a 1973 Trillium 1300?

Advice I've received elsewhere is that it's cheaper to simply replace the wheels on my trailer than to take it somewhere to have new tires installed (the ones on it right now, from the previous owner, have noticeable cracks so I don't want to risk a trip until they're replaced).

It should be simple enough to go to Princess Auto and pick up some new wheels, but I have no idea what size I need and Google searches aren't proving as helpful as I'd hoped.

Sorry if this has been answered previously. I tried searching the forums but didn't see a previous post about this.

Alternatively, if any forum members live in or near Edmonton, AB and have a tire shop they'd recommend, I'll take that advice!

Its a five lug Ford pattern, I think its 3 1/2 bolt diameter. Double check that.

Mine came with 13 inch wheels. I converted to 14 inch wheels.

I don't fully agree with the premise. Depends on where you get tires, but you should be able to get trailer tires and reuse your wheels for less than the wheel/tire combo. And realize those combos tend to have cheap tires on them.

I bought a set of four used Ford Ranger alloy 14 inch rims off C/L for $50. Bought tires at Walmart.com and had them mounted at a modest cost (tire shop in my town charged $5 per tire).

Want to search this forum? Just do it via google. Don't waste time with the forum's search function. This is true for most forums by the way.

Thanks for the info, Bill. I think the advice I was given was assuming I'd take the trailer into a tire shop (which most places in the city aren't set up for, despite it being a small trailer), rather than taking the wheels off, having new tires mounted on the rims and then re-installing them myself.

You suggestion seems like the most sensible and, probably, least expensive option. Now to research what kind of tires would be best...
