Do we have any more takers for this one?

There are at least 4 "new" and wanna be owners in the area I have been in contact with recently. This is a great opportunity to have a look at things without too much long distance tavel, especially if you don't have a trailer yet.

I am bummed (to break out my socal lingo) I can't make it, Gina. Our 5-week old baby girl still hasn't found her "rhythm" yet (I've tried singing incessantly all of my Beatles' tunes, but it still seems to evade her...). My wife and I both wish we could make the trek down from San Francisco but I do hope to meet you all soon...

You're probably too young to remember the original Headbanger Ball on MTV. It woked wonders to put Jon to sleep. Bouncing to Headbanger Ball...... that's probably what wrong with him today. White Snake..... we were desperate!

There will be more Rallys when the babe is older, hope to meet you all at one!

Pink Floyd, huh? I don't know if I want a 5-week old who is already a jaded rebel. I'll give her another 15 years to start worry about whether or not I'm just "another brick in the wall." And as for head-banging, it's one of the most effective techniques (though we like to euphemistically call it a gentle rocking)...

Your just two lost SOLES livng in a fishbowl...

Beleive it or not, I am at Applewhite right now.

I was returning home from a long trip, and figured..what the heck, why drag the trailer all the way up another pass, just to bring it back down again in a few days?

At 5 bucks a day (Golden Access) it's pretty cheap parking LOL! Singles are normally 10 bucks, and doubles 20.

The host here has an eagle eye, I have no problem with leaving it, I know everything will be where it was when I left it. (He has the worlds fastest golf cart and can see the entire campground from his site, + I think he has an electric eye so he knows when someone has entered the campground.)

I have spotted out the sites that are best for 13s, and the others for longer units. My rig is probably the longest of the egg types, so I took the longest spur. For spring break, it is pretty quiet. There are only 4 sites taken. That will no doubt change at the end of the week.

A hint for those coming on Friday. Find the 210 freeway (Any way you can EXCEPT from the 15 northbound.... take the 71, the 57.. whatever, but don't take the 15 north to get to the 210. If you are coming south, from the Cajon Pass, stay on the 15, you need not worry) and exit NORTH onto Sierra Ave. You will travel for a few miles on city streets, but it puts you out of the hell known as Vegas traffic backing up on the 215/15 interchange.

Sierra Ave. becomes Lytle Creek road once it crosses under the 15.

oh.. it's raining here LOL!

Gina,
Do you think there will be space if we come up on Saturday morning? My daughter has a colorguard show on Friday night.

This is such a good idea. I would have loved to attend this rally. I will be on a Panama Canal cruise so I have to pass this year but hope you get enough support to do it again next year. I have already penciled it in for around the same time next year so I can keep an eye out for it. Ken and Chris, 79 Fiber Stream

Linda, I cannot guarrantee anything, as there are no reservations, but I am pretty sure there will be something, even if it isn't the bestest spot.

I have never seen the place full. Since the holiday was at Easter, most folks were robably here THIS weekend.

If all else fails, there is a campground down the way that has partial hook ups. It's a private one, and it is all grass spots. If you come up, you'll have somewhere to park, I am sure.

Mappy! Suggested alternate routes for Friday nite. Other times should be OK to just zip up the 15. The 10 can get plugguy as well, but it does actually move and not stop.

Whoo-hoo, Gina, THIS is a spectacular idea! Only wish we weren't camped in the wilds of eastern AZ just now - I'm really anxious to learn how to install those LED's and cold cathodes. Ah, well, perhaps another time.

We know everyone who participates will have a great time, and the Eggs will emerge spiffier than before. Have fun, L 'n D

ps - be sure to take pics of Pete's dustruffle for the archives

Oh dang! Can't you just zip on over here?

I tried to start my generator tonite. No go.. just a couple burps, a snort and a...

It's been sitting unused for all winter, and no time to take it to the shop to clean up my neglect

Do we have any more takers? I stink at "party" planning. If anyone has a BBQ, we could use it! Maybe we could pot luck some beef and bird?

The campground is still currently *mostly* empty!

However, some sites were taken yesterday, including the one I was going to buy for Liz and Eric

I have spoken with the host, and he is turning his head to us taking double sites, (Because he likes me LOL!) so come on in as soon as you can and take whats available. You will have to pay for a double, but this is still the cheapest campground in the system, so a double here is what a single is elsewhere. Of course, you can always take a single, it's up to you.

L&E, I had picked out #35 for you. There is a rental class C in it now. If they are gone tonite when I get back, I will park my car over there and save it.

I love California.. ya gotta be sneaky! AARGH!

btw, the wind was high here yesterday, and my awning suffered. If anyone has a metal detector (Yes, I am serious) it would be appreciated! The wind tore part of the hardware out of the track on my curved arms, and I'll be danged if I can find it.

Well, I am sitting here at work.. I hear the attendees I left in charge have frightened the camp host away and are teaching my dogs new tricks..

So far, we have Fred and Robert and Lauren.

The campground was still with many spaces when I left this morning. Come on up and enjoy!

It's still a tad windy, but everyone is outside, so It can't be THAT bad!

Most of my awning parts have been retreived. At least come up and enjoy the comedy as it goes back together!

I thought the purpose was to REPAIR your rig!

I wish you were about two hours closer and I'd run down there tomorrow and at least visit.

The wind was crazy here yesterday. I felt like I was almost blown off the freeway in the middle of Fresno.
