Jim, Oh man I would love to come. Looks like we will have to skip this year though because of commitments. Plan on us for next year.

For the photographers in the bunch - There is a photography and camera club conference going on in La Crosse the same weekend (Sept 16-19). It is sponsored by the North Central Camera Club Council. More information here - http://www.n4clacrosse2010.com/

We are thinking about being there. We checked out the pdf map and wonder --
Is it shelter #2 and are there specific sites or first come first served? The satellite view looks pretty barren -- must be way off season

Jim,
I did attempt sending a message to you, but unsure if it went through. I just confirmed that Roger and Shirley Wood have made reservations for the Eggfest. We will be at site 49 and have a 2010 16 ft. Scamp. We are new owners, and are looking forward to meeting others. See you there.

Sorry I was gone to Auto upholstery school last month, and did not get back to people.
Right now we have at least 30 registered for Egg Fest and it sounds like we will have our campfire musicians again this year.

We bought a new tow yesterday and have to install a hitch-ect to go to Iowa latter this month to test the new tow ( 1997 Jeep Cherokee )

remember if you have not registered for EggFest do so soon and let me know who you are what you have for a camper and what site your in.

pm me if you have any questions

This is really near by for me, but it turns out that I cannot attend during that week. We will have a visit from overseas. At least I plan on just coming by for one day though. Maybe next year we will be in.

If there is any interest, there is an antique tool shop in Genoa. It is a town about 10 miles south, along the river. The store is chock-full of old tools with reasonable prices.

Also, in Stoddard [the next town south of the camp ground] there is a Scamp trailer parked in a carport along Main Street.

Hi Jim,
I am new to this site and I am scheduled to pick up a Scamp 13 dlx on September 15th ... I am hoping it may be ready a day or two early. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I have made a reservation for myself (Peter Douglas) for the Eggfest. I am thinking it might be a great place to break in my trailer as I am completely new to this. They put me in site 101 but may end up in 42 if it looks OK. It is closer to the river but they told me it was not perfectly level ... they said maybe I should check it out first.
I do have one question for you. Do you know if their is a site map of the campground anywhere? I couldn't find one on their web site.
I hope you are well!
Regards,
Peter

Pete: take #41, you'll be with all the other Scamps and there will be plenty of set-up help... No worries.
We are on #49.

Here is a PDF of the site map. Go to this link:
La Crosse County Maps and Brochures for County Parks and Trails

Then, under Goose Island Campground, go to the 4th bullet point, Campground Layout. That will show you the sites.

Jim - Do you have any more info about the times and cost of the tours? We are trying to work in some other activities in LaCrosse that weekend.

Thursdays activities will be in you welcome bag provided by Lacrosse county tourist department. The Amish tours you can do any time that day on your own.

The Eco tour is 10:30am or 6:30pm on Friday. We are planning on the 6:30pm tour as wild life should be more active. The tour is 2 hours long and cost 19.99 per person. I find no discounts shown for experienced campers. reservations are recommended call 877 647 7397 ext 2.

hope that answers you questions.
