As time grows closer, (drags by) for the New Year get together at Ft. Pickens, Fl. Connie and I are thinking about a couple of socials. The dates are Fri. Dec. 27, 2013 through Jan. 4, 2014. I'm sure some will come earlier and stay later as will we. Anyone who wants too are welcome to follow some of us to Flamingo campground in southern Fl. You'll be on your on, to Flamingo,
We need to know about how many are coming in order to make plans. So If you plan to be with us there, could you please e-mail me at: rgill@bellsouth.net . We will not disclose this information anywhere and no list of attendees will be published this year. If you have friends that frequent other BLOGS please invite them and have them e-mail us.
Weather may change these tentative plans.
We are thinking:
Soup and sandwich meal Fri. 27th at 4:30pm local time. Connie and I will provide the soup, taco soup and chicken gumbo. We need to know how much to prepare.
Sat. 28th at 12:00 noon, gather at Pegleg Pete's for a meal together.
Sun. 29th at 1:00pm group beach combing and photograph with free sea shells!
Mon. 30th at 1:00pm, group tour of the old fort, a fascinating place. Bring your camera!
No other ideas after that, open to suggestions.
BYOB but be discrete and responsible.
Bringing some firewood would be nice. There is no picnic shelter nearby.
There are some nice walking trails. Bicycles work easy, flat land.
The air museum in Pensacola is astounding, takes a full day if you like airplanes.
