Hi Doug. ...Rick is out at St Malo and I don't believe he has access to this site or his private messages. I am the co-host with Rick, anything I can help you with just let me know.

Hi everyone!

I haven't been very active on here yet as our new-to-us '69 Boler JUST got finished in the shop after waiting 4 weeks for a new axle. She is nowhere near ready to show off at a rally but my husband Mark and I will be making the trip to St. Malo this weekend to meet you lovely folks and learn more about our little egg. We have a lot to learn and are very excited to see your handy work!

Do I need to register anywhere if we are just coming to be nosey?

Welcome

Hello Leanne,
Feel free to come out and visit. The trailer tours will start at 1pm on Saturday starting at camping site A9.
As you may know the Vintage camper owners love to talk about their units so you will be able to pick up some great ideas and projects for the future!
See you there.

Just a quick note.... there is a write up in the Winnipeg Sun (hard copy and online) today about our St Malo Rally.

Also, RV West magazine has write up if anyone is interested in some more reading.....Thanks for the heads-up on this one Doug.

Hi all at the rally or home by the time you see this. We passed St Malo on Thursday on the way to our family reunion in the Whiteshell but with sleeping baby could not stop to see the early arrivals. Hopefully next year we shall make the rally!

On the way here saw three eggs one on PTH 1 east of Richer and two others likely on the way to the rally first an egg don't know what type but pulled by a 50's vintage grey station wagon on 59 near St. Pierre then a blue truck pulling a Boler on 52 west of Steinbach.

I am half way home and finally have a wifi connection.
I had a GREAT TIME at the Manitoba event, thank you to Rick, Roland and the special ladies in their lives for organizing this event. Made LOTS of new friends, viewed some exceptional trailers and ate way too much.

Safe travels to all.

Thanks Doug, I took that pic in Churchill just wish I had a better camera to do this bear some justice as he was playing around for us. Need to head back up there in two weeks so hope to get some better shots.

Adrian, hope to see you next year.
You caught some of the early arrivals on the road and they kept coming till Saturday evening! Rick will have more accurate numbers but I believe around 50 units this year and well over 100 participants!

Everyone's trailers are so clean and shiny! I'd be too embarrassed to go to a rally with what mine looks like at the moment!

Looks like it was grand weather and a lot of fun!

Hi Morgyn, weather was good and as you mentioned quite a bit of fun was had along with some great info on restoring and maintaining these various campers. Please do not worry about how clean or or shiny yours may be as the great thing about this rally is the trailers are all in various stages of repair and restoration so no one is alone! And that includes mine which could really use some work.
Take care and see you next year!

Sorry for taking so long to update anything here. I unfortunately had to work today. Well after double checking my notes we ended up with 47 trailers and I counted 106 people at the pot luck supper. With an age range from 1 year old to 80 years young. Great weather and even better company. Thanks must go out to all who attended and also to all who helped with the pancake breakfast. Thanks to Ian G for doing the Bearing Repack and Brake Demo. Very informative and I even learned a few things.

To those of you that did not attend because you thought your trailer would not fit in, please come out anyway. We have had campers in all states of repair from bare shells that were see through at night when the lights were on, LOL @ Luc, to all done. Get out there and use your camper, please do not think it needs to be prefect to go camping and to show it off. An empty shell shows the rest of use what is underneath and where to start from. Been there done that.

Now I just need to remember how to post some pics.

Rick
