Is anyone who is coming headed back up 101 through Eureka afterwards? If so, please PM me if you might have room to transport a box or two up to my daughter in McKinleyville. I'm getting ready to move and clearing out her stuff and it looks like she won't be able to make it down to pick any of it up so I'm exploring other options (besides mailing what I can.)

Looking forward to seeing all and doing some dutch oven cooking. Still working on the two pizzas in one dutch oven with limited success. Will try again at the Rally.

Newbies, Mary Lou and Randy Shelton........"the check is in the mail." I always thought of King City as a place to "Pass Through" not a place to "Go To" but here we come. We are looking forward to our first rally.

I had always thought it was a “pass through” also.

To get us up to data:

King City Campground is a very nice and interesting place that Marianne found.
The campground has a very nice clubhouse we have to use exclusively during the Rally.
Hiking trails behind and around the campground.
Lots for shade trees.
River nearby
Agricultural and Salinas Valley Museum in the campground.
King City is in walking distance.
Plus there will be Dutch Oven Cooking, free soup night, Dutch Oven Pizza and good company.

Elvin mentioned a river nearby, it's actually to the west side of the campground. I was born and raised in KC back when it was a much different place and what I would say about the river is.....be careful...it's got quicksand.

KC has a nice little 9 hole golf course for those of you who golf. I'm contemplating bringing a few clubs and playing Weds., we'll see.

Actually, San Lorenzo Park has its very own 'putting green'. Bring the clubs.

Yes, I know. I've camped there many times.

My 2 putters aren't ones I'd be leaving out. I'll ask around and see if anyone has some extra old putters they'd donate for us to use and would not mind losing, if they happen to walk off. We could leave the old putters and some balls out for people to use. I've got lots of balls I'll bring.

Not in the campground. There is a Starbucks, two block from the campground gate.
