Thoughts and concerns

With the government shutdown of October, 2013 and the kick the can down the road solution in the works; I have a concern that we could be locked out of Farnum Creek Campground at the last minute by another shutdown.

1. We could plan to hold Eggstravaganza at Farnum Creek and if there is a shutdown move it to the state fishing lake. This would be a boondocking location with no showerhouse and pit toilets. It is free camping, however.
2. We could hold it at the state park. Upside: good location, good camp sites, showerhouses. Downside: higher camping fees and a daily use fee for everyone without a Kansas state park permit.
3. We could hold it at a commercial campground. Upside: maybe a meeting room. Downside: higher camping fees, smaller campsites.


It has been suggested that we have a registration fee to offset our expenses.

We do not want this to be a burden and certainly do not want to make a profit so we thought perhaps a contribution of $3 per person (limit of $6 per unit) would be adequate. This would replace the collection that has been taken and presented to us each year by someone.

Please give us your thoughts on these ideas?

I prefer to have electric-for a/c-I just dont handle the heat well but, not having electric wouldnt stop us from being at the rally.
I dont mind a registration fee-Tom and Joyce put a lot of work into the rally to make it great for all.
Hopefully by then all will be back on track.
