Why knot eh?

Reservations are made, please log Scouter Dave in on site #120.

Should I bring my "knot box" and a bit of para cord??

Does anyone know if there is a storage area at the park. I am heading to Red Lake, Ontario after the event but I do not want to haul my rig. I can haul it back to London, Ontario and leave it with family if I have to but leaving it at the park would be much more convenient.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, and thanks for the very positive encouragement.

Take care all, Scouter Dave, Knothead, Dreamer, Seeker, Believer....

Dave, We'd all love a paracord bracelet class! I didn't get to take the last one you gave us. Please let us know what the materials will cost, because I wouln't expect you to do it for free.

Thank you!!

Also, I just checked with Algonac State Park. After Sept 15th, they will let you stay for 1 week, for the price of a weekend (i.e. pay for 2 nights and stay from Sat-Friday). However, you would be starting 1 week ahead of the official start of Sept 15th. The park said that you would need to speak to the Park Ranger (Dennis 810-765-5605) to see if he would allow you to 1 week early. I don't know how long you need to leave your trailer on the site, but hopefully this info will help.

I've got you set up for site 120.

And Doug (CompactJR-Sailor), I'll add you to the map also.

Dave----We live in Mount Clemens, just down the lake from Algonac and could make arrangements for the trailer if you need it. My son in law has a lot we could park it on where he has his trailer and boat.

Wink Paracord Survival Bracelets

FYI.....
550 Paracord Survival Bracelets are made up of 7 to 9 feet of cord. The cord contains 7 inner strands of very strong, light line that can be removed once the bracelet is untied [in an emergency situation] and these can be used for lashings, snares, making a net, marking your trail or for fishing line.
A 9.5 inch bracelet uses 8.5 feet of paracord which will give you almost 70 feet of line [7 inner strands and the outer sheath] for emergency use.
I will bring everything needed to run a class (about 1 hour) and
I will show you how to make the jig for construction and how to make a bracelet. I teach 5- and 6-year old Beaver Scouts how to make them so don't tell me I can't teach you. And I promise to tell you a few lies while I am at it.
Cost will be $4.00 [USD] which, with the exchange rate, is close to the five dollars I charge for adult classes {kids go for free}.

Thanks for the offer. Not sure if it will be the 13 or the 15 foot Trillium but hopefully the 15. I estimate a maximum time of 10 days but it could be less. We can discuss it at the event. It sounds great.

Since I plan to get to the park on September 4 (Thursday), I'll be online to checking in on March 4,,,, lookin fer a prime site!

Schedule, similar to last year
Friday evening, meet and greet with after dinner fireside time together. Does anyone want to volunteer to host this fireside?
Saturday morning, stop by my place for coffee cake and java,,,, and maybe a few board games? Does anyone have a favorite 'classic' game to bring? Remember Racko? Operation? Connect Four?
Saturday afternoon we can crack open our eggs for for viewing

Saturday evening pot luck, and group fire afterwards.

I have a couple of awesome items for prizes, and with a few more donations, we can have another great drawing.
