Deer Run Campground is close, and it's quite nice. We haven't been there since they were taken over by Adventure Bound but many locals camp there regularly and love it.

Thanks for that Jason. Looks like only Deer Run is very close. I'll call them and see if they'll take a one nighter that Thursday. Maybe they'll relent on a week night.
Otherwise there's a Walmart on Rte 7 only 10 miles away that supposedly allows overnights. Know anything about that Frank?

I don't know about that Walmart Walt, but we've stayed in them overnight in other places. Let me see what I can find out when I get back home. Running around this morning!

Walt, RVParky says the only Walmart close you can overnight in is at 579 Troy/Schenectady Road in Latham. Troy/Schenectady Road is Rt. 7, so that's probably the one you found.

John called me last night and wanted me to invite any of you coming in Thursday just to come to their place. No need to go to Deer Run or park in a Walmart parking lot unless you really want to. You are more than welcome to come in a day early. Just let them know, and you should be fine!

Just got an email from my brother John noting that the Hudson River is like glass this morning. He wanted me to remind you paddlers to bring your boats!

On a related note, you can help train Gail and I how to paddle. We bought kayaks over the weekend. Two Perception Prodigy models, a 10' for Gail and a 12' for me. We will have them at the rally, and hopefully will not be fumbling around...
