Excellent! It is a great place to kayak, and they have a kayak launch right on their property!

When does registration close? I just got a FGRV. First camping trip is the last week end in July and then the next weekend I am camping with the Boy Scouts. I'm not sure I can do three weekends in a row.... But I am 20 minutes away. If I don't register to stay would it be ok to at least stop by and say hi. Or is that bad form?

Registration is really for John & Nancy to get an idea how much food to buy for the meals Brian. If you don't want to come and play over the weekend, stopping by to say hi is NOT bad form!

Glad to hear you got an egg!

Just an update folks.

So far we have 5 registered.

Keep in mind all meals are included and if we have good weather it is also a water rally with kayaks galore and river boat rides that go through the locks (at no extra charge).

This is a rally which costs about what you would spend just for two nights of camping at any kind of regular campground. Here You get 3 breakfasts, two dinners, trips on the river on our big pontoon tour boat, a trip thru the locks, a place on site to launch your kayak and even lessons in kayak use, all for 50 bucks! You can't beat the price with a stick.

There may even be ice cream involved. I'll check...

Enjoy your day!

Frank

Sorry to be a pest, but I can't recall if I've registered.
I've been working on several rallies at the same time and just on the way home from the one in New Brunswick.
Of course that's just an excuse for my decrepit memory. LOL

Walt, go back to post #33 or 34, and get John & Nancy's number and call and ask. (I can't do that because I posted them at home from Photobucket, and that is one of the things we can't access at work.) Registrations are not coming to me, and they don't check this forum. If you'd rather, I can check with them tonight. Just let me know what you would prefer. Thanks, and have a great day!

Thanks for all your efforts Frank. Unfortunately I'm on an extended trip in Canada and my phone is not working. I'll be home next week and will check then.

Walt

P.S. Sorry to clutter up your thread with such personal stuff.

Thanks Walt!

Yes, you did register. I checked with John.

Enjoy your trip to Canada. I'm envious!

Hi all,
Brand new to the site. We are in the market for an "egg" and the rally seems like an excellent opportunity for us to get up close and personal. We're down on Long Island and could easily make the rally for the weekend. Is there a spot for us to stay maybe one night and enjoy the festivities Saturday and Sunday?
Should we register now? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

When you say a "Is there a spot for us to stay maybe one night", John & Nancy's place is just north of Albany NY, an area with every sort of lodging you could imagine. For something close by there is the Oakcliff B&B, a beautiful old place that is on the historic register.
Oakcliff Bed and Breakfast in Halfmoon, New York | B&B Rental

Having said that, yes, go ahead and register and join us for meals and activities. It will give you a chance to see a few eggs up and close!

Welcome aboard!

Are there any planned activities?
We want to go but that Saturday is also a motorcycle run to benefit a friend who has cancer. I'm thinking of setting up Friday night (if we can get there late??? By 8:00pm??)
Then leaving early and coming back Saturday evening. Are people staying the day Sunday or leaving as soon as they get packed up?

With a six hour drive time, I'm arriving early afternoon Friday and leaving by noon on Sunday. I'm sure there will be a group campfire each night to discuss tall tales.

You might miss a breakfast and dinner, and maybe a boat ride through the locks. My brother John and his wife Nancy are running the show, so specifics for Saturday are beyond me! We'll have our kayaks and maybe even our bikes and will hopefully just be out and about if it's nice. If it's not nice John & Nancy have these huge canopy tents on site with picnic tables and all. We can sit around, snack, drink favorite beverages, read that book you're been meaning to get to, stuff like that.

Gail & I never really care about the weather too much. We're just glad to be camping, away from home & office.

Frank

If it's nice we will bring kayaks also. Maybe a Sunday afternoon paddle?
Can you find out what time they want us out of there? I'm only about 45 min away so that isn't so bad for me

Meghan, my brother's reply to your question:

The last hot meal served will be breakfast (time to be determined by group) any and all can stay later in the day for Kayaking.

Hi Frank ... Has the count ... being registered changed ? Looks like the weather as of today will be ideal for those wanting to be on the water.
