We currently have 16 rigs signed up and 2 "maybe's". Things are shaping up to be a really good rendezvous. With this many rigs, the cost should be less than $10/night/rig, Maybe only $20 (or less) for all 3 nights.
Remember $5/night extra for the electric spots.

For anyone that may be coming, there is a narrow guage steam train that runs between Durango and Silverton. The cost of the round trip is $90.95 for the standard class. You can also upgrade to Deluxe of First class. They say the trains run full during July and August so make your reservation early. There is a stop, I think it is called Rockwood, near Chris Park where you can get on and off but you will miss out on some of the ride, the 18 miles between there and Durango. It is 45 miles one way through the scenic Animas river valley. For more information goto: Official Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train or call 888.872.4607.

The date conflicts with a fishing trip, maybe next year. For those who have not driven Hwy 550 you are in for a treat. The stretch from Durango to Ouray is the most scenic highway drive in Colorado.

FYI, there is a free dump station in Santa Rita Park in Durango.
Santa Rita Park is located on Highway 550 (S. Camino Del Rio) at Santa Rita Drive in Durango.

We now have 22 rigs signed up.
If thats how many show up, the cost will be $15 per rig for all three nights.

Must Drop Out Of Rally

Hi All,

Sorry to say I am forced to withdraw from this years rally. A recent hospital stay and subsequent follow with my docs will delay my summer travels for 2 weeks.

I will pickup on my southwest travels beginning Aug 1. I hate to miss the Rocky Mtn Egg gathering, this being my first, but hope to make it next year.

Have a great rally!

Durango Rendevous

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year. If you're creating a
contact list for 2016, please add my name.
Thanks

Just returned from the Rocky Mountain Egg Rendezvous, in the San Juan Mountains just north of Durango, CO. Was a very nice mix of eggs and egg lovers, everyone sharing stories, taking notes, great food, bonfires, all the usual good stuff. Many Casitas and Scamps, a U-Haul, Egg Camper, a Lil' Snoozy, and Escape 19's.

Weather perfect. Seems like everyone brought a dog, many brought two. Nearby Haviland Lake was too cold for me. On Wednesday we drove over to a spa a few miles away and soaked in the steamy waters of Trimble Hot Springs. Good job, Thom, thanks.
