2015 Alberta Omelette - Fall Edition

September is the time the days become shorter and the leaves begin to change color, but it signals that time of year for the Annual Alberta Fall Omelette.
This year the location is the High Eagle RV Resort at Rosebud Alberta High Eagle RV Park - Rosebud, Alberta (108 km North East of Calgary, 166 km South east of Red Deer, 220 km North of Lethbridge and 314 km South of Edmonton)
Located on the south side of Rosebud, this campground features:

* very clean washrooms with coin operated showers

* 30 Amp power for those electric heaters
(for those with 15 amp plugs please bring your adapter)

* Water to each site (sorry no dump station on site)

* Pets welcome (must be on leash at all times)

Date is Sept 17-20 (I have our area booked from Thursday to Sunday, come early but I am sure most will not be arriving until Friday evening)
The rate is $35 per night, Please register directly with the RV Park by calling the campground in the link attached, call early to reserve your spot.

Make sure you reserve your spot at the campground as the campground will fill up.This weekend is also the opening of the latest play at the Rosebud Theater, if you are interested in taking in the play also purchase your tickets early as it will be sold out.

This event will be casual with limited events organized,

* no pot luck, maybe a beer/wine exchange on the Friday night

* open trailer tours on Saturday afternoon

* "Dinner on a stick" on Saturday night followed by the musical interlude of all you talented musicians. (Dinner on a stick is bring whatever you want to cook and eat around the campfire, we will have a fire going for cooking hot dogs, etc.)

Anyone who wants to organize any activities please step forward.

I just saw this. Not paying good attention.

If we are not canoeing then, we will definitely come. Might want to take in the play too.

Is this a group site, or do we just book individual sites?

Initially these are individual sites but there is a good chance we may need to double up or get cozy depending on how many show up. You need to register with the campground as there is some flexibility on the number of sites we can take over.

This would be so nice , would love to join ! Just not sure for this year as we are expecting our son home from Kuwait for a short visit . Will this or is this an annual event ? Would love it we have always wanted to go to that Rosebud Theater !!

I am booked in from Thursday to Sunday. It certainly is rare to get a reservation without a deposit in a private campground.

If it comes to it, I have no issue with doubling up.

I am considering going to the 3:00 play at the theatre on Saturday. I have told Lisa none of this yet, as she is out in Ottawa for a couple more weeks, but will give her a call.

BTW, fixed up that bit of blathering you had going on their, Gabi. Hope you guys can make it, as well as have a great visit with your son.

Wish we could go to one of these Canadian rallies but we will be either too early or too late. We'll be in BC in early August, then at Banff and Jasper and nearby for weeks in August, and then east. Have fun!

On the weekend itself, there are only two Saturday shows. This is why I was thinking the 1:30 afternoon show, instead of the 8:00 evening show, so one could get back and socialize in the campground.

My wife does not even know I booked the campsite yet. Better clue her in, and ask about the play.

We keep looking at the selections from this season and are thinking " The Wind in The Willows " appeals the most and it's not available till Nov . Not sure yet if we will take in the play , does sound nice though ..... play and buffet .

To be honest, I never checked out the play that is on, just the time. I have heard from lots of people that have thoroughly enjoyed the performances at the Rosebud Theatre.

Sept 18 is opening weekend at the Rosebud Theater for "Mass Appeal" tickets are still available but expect them to be sold out soon.

A Comedic Clash of Convictions

When popular Father Farley is challenged by a young seminary student, he is outraged. Yet he sees something in Mark Dolson worth investing in, so tries to set the headstrong student straight. Personalities inevitably collide. A challenging play about staying true to your convictions and holding onto your dreams.

Performances run Wednesday to Saturday.
Matinees: Meal seating 11:00 am to noon. Performance 1:30 pm
Evenings: Meal seating 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Performance 8:00 pm
