Please check with John or Nancy, but my admittedly shaky memory seems to think that many of the outlets are 20 amp.

Thanks Walt. I will check soon as I can, but it might be March. Bring adapters from 30 to 20!

Frank,
We're interested in attending this year. Bill and Ann-Marie, 2014 Escape 21. I guess I just follow this thread for the details as the dates get closer?

Question - are friendly dogs welcome?

I took my 2 labs to the last one they had, no issues.

Yes, as cpaharley says, no problem. We travel with a dog as well.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Ed and I are in and will bring Doogie the dog. Last time was so much fun! Thanks to John and Nancy for offering to host again, and thanks to you, Frank for organizing.

Since we are literally 5 minutes away, please let us know if there's anything we can help with for preparation.

we would like to join you, also. we live on the cape, so not too far of a trip. It sounds like fun. We went to a casita rally in Lajitas a couple of years ago and it was just great fun!! met the mayor, a goat named Clay Henry. Texas does have a sense of humor.

General Q's

Are there facilities available -- shower ? Bathrooms ?
Can we arrive early by a few days ?
Can we stay late - by a few days ?

Asking is it possible to use the campground as a base from which to explore the area ?

Is there another recomended campground in the area with facilities ??

Yes, there is a bathroom and shower in there easily accessible basement that can be used. I would have to check to see if you could come early and stay late. Their property is not a campground per say, though it is set up that way for their frequent RV quests, mostly motor homes except for the yearly egg meet. And yes, you could use the property as a base from which to explore the area. Generally Nancy gets everybody on their big pontoon boat and go down the Hudson through a lock and back. They have a beautiful dock, plus an area just a bit upstream on their property to launch canoes and kayaks.

I don't generally camp around here, other than doing the egg rally at John & Nancy's. Here's a link to some campgrounds around: https://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=cam...on%2C+NY+12188

Any other questions, let me know. I'll check in a day or two with them as to the few days early and few days late thing.

Thanks!

Frank

Facilities - Thanks Frank

Thanks Frank . I had my trawler up there some yonks ago - from the Chesapeake - and found that I love the Hudson Rver and Valley - but on a boat one lacks transportation to ecplore very much beyond the river itself which - fascinating though it is - is definately limiting . Having land transportation means that so much of it will be new to me -- and I wanna see what I missed - and explore where I could not stop or stay over to see ... for at least a week ... and the rally is icing on the cake - wow zowie !

Looking forward to it all !

Cordially,
Ken

We have roads that follow the Hudson for a long ways around here. John & Nancy live on the Hudson River Road, and there are locks you can drive to and roads that will take you for miles north and especially south along the Hudson. There's plenty to see from a vehicle, but a boat ride is special in and of itself, right folks? Others on this thread have been to these rallies and know the deal. Maybe they'll pipe in...

My brother says you can stay from the Wednesday before to the Wednesday after. $7/night for power, free otherwise. The actual event is going to run 50 bucks for the weekend, but includes lots of stuff, including power, group meals, a boat ride, and at least in the past, an ice cream social. Will post a flyer soon.

Great! The more the merrier. I think there's 13 electric hook ups, so we'll figure that stuff out soon. You'll love this huge home owners lawn right on the Hudson River. Looking forward to meeting you.

We also heard about this at the NH rally. It was such a great time that we would also love to attend in our 16' Scamp. I'll be following for updates.
Thanks
