Went to the campground yesterday and reserved #89 (i only live 45 min. away). Sounds like the fishing is really good so plan on renting a rowboat a couple of days...til I get too many fish for the freezer. Looking forward to the fun.

I have updated the schedule on the web page:
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...led-activities

It is incomplete and does not mention the location of some of the
daily events. For example: the music will probably take place between
some of the sites in an open area under a tent. I have 1 10' by 20' tent
and am hoping that someone may have another 1 or 2 that you can
bring. Unfortunately, we do not have a pavilion to use.

Let me know if there is a craft that you would like to lead so I can include
it in the schedule.

The logistics of organizing a rally

Hi Kathy, I have a question that is slightly off topic. As a newbee, I am curious what arrangements get made with campgrounds for hosting rallies. First, I salute you and do not intend to compete.
How far ahead do you have to make arrangements? Do they reserve a block of sites? Can you increase or decrease the number of sites? Do you surrender them at some point? Do you take some financial risk personally? I imagine some campgrounds are easier to work with. Can you set some rules? Such as no generators under 10kw? Thank you.

Tom,
I have sent you a private message since the answer is pretty long and most people attending know the ins and outs of a rally.

Cindy and I have site 86 reserved starting on June 1. However, we may not be able to get there until June 2 due to work complications. Looking forward to the trip!

And we will bring a couple of items along to sell: one of the Harbor Freight trailer dollies that we used for the VT when I got my hand disability and a Sharp microwave, the kind that fit in small fiberglass camper closets well and go for a small fortune on ebay. It does heat, but it not spin anymore, but you can get those parts if you want it to spin. It also needs a paint job, as it has some rust spots from being in the garage after we got a different one. We did test it though.

If our garage sale next weekend has leftovers, we may have other things with us too.

A mistake?

Hello group! Did Cindy and Bill Evans cancel? I just called the campground and they said that site 80 was open. I reserved it for Wednesday thru Sunday but if that's a campground mistake - please let me know. I'd be happy to take another site.

Update: I just read in the thread comments that Bill sold his camper. I guess that explains it.

Otherwise, we don't sing or dance but we're always happy to drink cowboy coffee. We were at the rally in Door County last year.

Are non-owners welcome to visit this rally? My wife and I are considering purchasing an egg, and it would be nice to take a look at a few different ones. If visitors are allowed, what is the best day to come?
Thanks!

To Rob and Susan

Yes, I believe that they did cancel since they sold their unit. See above
where they mentioned that they may come to the park if someone was
interested in purchasing some of their gear.

To John MN

John,
Absolutely, anyone is welcome, with or without a fiberglass RV.
Feel free to stop by. On Saturday we will have open house. Take a look
at the schedule:
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...led-activities

Feel free to join us for whatever activity you will feel comfortable with.

John, most of the rallies include an open house so people can see what customizations and mods have been made. I am sure you would have endless opportunites to discover the things you like and dislike. It will help you narrow your search.

You should go.

My wife and I were able to visit the rally Saturday morning. We met a lot of nice people, and saw a good sampling of eggs. Many thanks to all of the kind folks who welcomed us and allowed us to see their rigs!

Just a note to thank everyone who took the time from their schedules to join us this past week at Blackhawk Lake. Bob and I enjoyed our time with all of you.
