I normally send reminders about making reservations around the end of February, however, this year we will be on the road and may not have access to email at that time. Recreation.gov allows you to make reservations exactly 6 months prior. If you are planning to arrive on 9/6 you can make your reservations on 3/6. I recommend recreation.gov because it does not charge a fee for making the reservation.

Pre-Rally Get-together:Mon, Sept 4 –Tues, Sept 5, 2017 (no agenda, just visiting and impromptu activities.)

"Official" Rally:Wed, Sept 6 – Sun, Sept 10, 2017

Loop

Will the A or B Loop be the primary area? Any suggestions on an easy site to get into for a couple of newbies who are still learning to back the 16 ft Scamp up? I see this is a Casita rally - are Scamps welcomed?

A Loop. Our gathering is for Fiberglass campers and friends. Come as soon as you can, stay as long as you can, participate as much or as little as you like.

We are home from our 8 week trip to Arizona and California. Time to start planning this year’s Eggstravaganza.

There are 14 sites left in A-Loop. 20 sites are reserved; however I only have information on 6. If you have reservations and have not let me know your name(s), site number, date of arrival, date of departure and hometown, please do so.

Thanks,
Tom

May Update

Just a quick update, there are still 5 sites available in A-Loop. I have names to go with all except 4 of the reserved sites. If you are in A-7, 11, 16 or 34 please let me know.

I have not started on the agenda yet, but unless I receive some suggestions, I don’t see many changes from the last few years.

One change is that the campfires will be propane this year. No wood smoke.

We are also changing restaurants for “Let’s do lunch”.

Paul and Julie will be coming from Omaha

I just made a reservation for site A 42 from Sept 6-10th so it looks like we will be neighbors to Mary and Jim from Des Moines. We are from Omaha. This will be only our 2nd rally and are looking forward to it. Our first one will be in Iowa at The Ledges just 2 weeks before! We will likely be bringing our 2 small dogs with us. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

We just booked A020.

Thought we'd check out this rally.

We have not attended any rallies yet, so what is the "usual agenda"?

June update

With just 3 months to wait there is not much to report for our June update. There are still 2 sites available in A-Loop. There are some additions to and deletions from the roster.

We do have some first timers so here are some the highlights of what to expect at our gathering.

Our gathering is for Fiberglass campers and friends. Come as soon as you can, stay as long as you can and participate as much or as little as you like.

The Rally Bags Event

This is where we share something we have discovered in our camping experiences.
There will be a bag for each Rig so you can, if you wish, add something to each bag. The only rule is: CHEAP! (Tom's hint: Dollar Store) It can be something you make, something you buy, a useful website, a recipe you really love, a hint for your Egg, an appropriate cartoon, anything you think others would appreciate. The possibilities are endless.
We will pass the bags out on Saturday evening and discover our "treasures".
Every rig will have a bag, but remember participate as much or as little as you like. No one is under an obligation to add something.

Let’s do Lunch Event

This year we are going to Stacy’s Restaurant in Grandview Plaza. Stacy’s is an old time mom & pop type restaurant. Prior to the construction of I-70 Stacy’s was a truck stop. After completion of I-70 it became popular with the Junction City after church crowd. It is also a popular everyday place to have lunch.

Breakfast potluck Event.

Bring one or two of your favorite Breakfast items to share.

Pizza Party Event

This will be the 3rd year that we have had the Pizza Party instead of an evening potluck. Bring your own beverage (soft drinks, beer or wine).
A donation will be collected to cover the cost of the pizza.

Sunday Breakfast Event

Coffee, sausage, pancakes and the fixin’s.
This is a chance to say goodbye for all those hitting the road on Sunday. Everything is furnished so you only need to bring your appetite.

I was surprised to see two sites in A loop still available, so I booked site A28. We will be stopping on the way to Colorado.
