Is there still room at the dinner? We have reservations at the campground and are attending the rally.
Thanks,
Vance and Amanda

We'd love to have you as our first Boler (now we just need a Trillium too). You'll need to call the park for a reservation.
And will you join us for dinner Saturday at the Harvest Table? I'll call them with a final count in about a week.

Oh, and where in Ontario? I grew up (sort of) in Toronto, Barry, Hockly Valley, etc.

And Deanna, I'll put you down for dinner.

Walt

Heck, Neal!
You just gave me a thought of doing the same!

I have a flight to catch out of NC on the 29th, but this can be doable and Walt has been awesome to work with. After I wrap up the Eggshells last email this evening to prep everyone, let me see if I can follow tire tracks out to Hungry Mother for my first time there...

Hope you want me Walt! I can be a handful of fun energy...and don't wan't to miss the event.

Love to have you join us. Welcome aboard. You do know to make your own reservation at the campground right?
And will you join in the dinner, and/or the bike ride?

Walt

Hungry mothers state park rally.

Hi Walt.
Sorry about our delayed response. I sent my reply. It'seems out there somewhere in the unknown.

Yes, John and I are excited about attending get your rally. Apparently we got the last campsite in Burson. If it's not too late, we would love to come to the dinner on Saturday. It would be for the two of us, John and Marlene.

Our Boler is still in the renovation stage. We are having fun with our "work in progress" hobby.

I'm excited about the drive down, the scenery will be part of the adventure.

Our location in Ontario is near Barrie, not far from Horseshoe Valley . I know Hockley Valley is and it is a beautiful area.

Look forward to meeting you and the other enthusiasts. I forgot to mention that we will not be arriving until Friday afternoon. We will look for your site when we get there.

Cheers,

Marlene

Virginia Creeper at Hungry Mother

My friend, Cathy, and I are staying at Creekside. What do we need to do to join the group going on the Creeper trail?
Also what time and where do we meet for the Friday night supper?
Thanks!
Jean

Hi Walt:

Sorry for the late note. Therese and I would like to attend the dinner, and would like to participate in the bike trip as well, although we would need to rent bikes.

Looks like the bike ride will be Friday and the dinner Saturday?

Thanks,
Don (Kolocar)

We recently camped at Hungry Mother SP and really enjoyed it. The lake is a beautiful place for kayaking or canoeing.

Exit #47 off of I-81 to Rt. 11 to Rt. 16 can be used to avoid downtown Marion while towing. At the intersection of Rt. 16 and Rt. 11 there's a Walmart on the way to the State Park, too.

I apologize for not responding to some of you sooner.
I was at the Cherokee Rally with very poor, spotty service.

Apparently the Creekside campground will also be open, as Jean (Weavery) discovered.
No doubt that's because we moved our dates from November to October.

I confess I'm overwhelmed by the response this year. In the past we've never had over 20 people or 12 rigs. As of now, our numbers are

..........................Dinner.................. .Bike Ride
Walt..........................1................... .....1
Lauver........................2................... .....2
CamperBill....................2................... .....2
LarryB........................1................... .....1
Williams......................1................... .....1
Barkley.......................1................... .....1
Jean & Cathy..................2........................2
Don & Theresa.................2........................2
Sbd...........................2
KenEllen......................2
Carver........................2
Weavery.......................2
Jeweltea......................2
Vermilye......................3
Donna.........................1
Vance & Amanda................2
Deanna........................1
Holly.........................1
John & Marlene................2
Terry & Susan.................2

TOTALS.......................34................... .....12

We'll have at least 20 rigs and Burson is filled for the first time. All I can say is WOW!

Sorry for the funky misalignment The formatting is not being preserved when I copy from my text editor to the forum.

There's no problem with the number for the bike ride, but I'll need to call the restaurant to make sure they can handle the expanded attendance. Fingers crossed.

The park bus will leave the campground at 8:30 Friday morning. The park ranger Lilly Kingsolver will arrange rental bikes for all riders and the group fee is $20, a very good group rate. Lilly says we can expect to be back in camp around 3:30.

I'll make reservations at the Harvest Table restaurant for 6:00 and we'll need to be on the road by 5:30. We should arrange to pool riders to minimize the number of vehicles.

Have I left anything out?

Walt

I see I failed to answer Don's question about the dinner date. It will be Saturday night.
Sorry about that.
